Company History

The late 80’s and early 90’s were difficult times in the building industry. This was the time when Australia had the recession it had to have. The economy had overheated and the spiralling interest rates was out of control. This may not have been the best time to start a company. Ironically, this was when Home & Industrial was formed.

Two engineers, a geotechnical engineer and a structural engineer  made a cross-road decision at the time to take the challenge and have a go.  Home & Industrial Soiltest Pty Ltd was formed.

Ramon D Leoncio having had several years of geotechnical experience coupled with a background in business administration took the lead in starting the business. Soon after, Edwin Hammink joined the company. Ramon’s and Edwin’s combined and complementing experience and expertise has formed the main pillars of the company’s success.

The company was officially registered on 22 August 1990 . It had its humble beginnings at Ramon’s residence in Mount Waverley . In 1991, a small office was set up in Keilor Road , Essendon where Edwin Hammink started working full time for the company.

The company has grown over the years having gained a foothold in residential and light industrial site investigation and engineering consultancy.

Today, the company employs eight staff in two offices and has retained a long-term relationship with three very experienced geotechnicians.

Objectives & Vision of the Company

This Company has been formed to cater to the engineering needs of the local building industry. We take pride in providing professional and prompt service to our clients. It is our aim to provide a one stop shop as far as site investigation, site features survey, foundation, civil and structural engineering services are concerned.

This Company is one of the initial members of the Foundation and Footings Society (Vic). Ramon Leoncio is a current committee member. The Foundation and Footings Society (FFSV) has been involved in lifting the standards of the industry. The FFSV has recently developed “state of the arts” Practice Notes for residential site investigation. It is the policy of this company to adhere to the FFSV Practice Notes.

We are Registered Building Practitioners in the State of Victoria . We see ourselves as becoming one of the leaders in the industry in the near future. We have embraced the modern technology, using the latest hardwares and softwares in design and drafting. We continue to train our staff to deliver accurate and quality work.
